Accessibility
Statement on the accessibility of this website and how to report a problem.
The Victory Museum and Liberation of Dalmatia aims to make its website accessible to all visitors, including persons with disabilities and older persons. This page was built to WCAG 2.1 level AA and EN 301 549 as far as its stage of development allows.
What we have built in
- correct language marking (hr/en/de/it) and a link to the same page in the other languages
- skip-to-content link, logical headings (h1 to h3) and semantic regions (header, main, footer)
- full keyboard navigation, visible focus states and touch-friendly target sizes
- colour contrast meeting AA and information never conveyed by colour alone
- every image element has alternative text and decorative elements are hidden from screen readers
- responsive layout with no horizontal scrolling, pinch-zoom allowed and text readable at 200 percent
- respect for reduced-motion settings and full content without JavaScript
- the form has labels, error messages associated with the field (aria-describedby), required-field marking and an error summary
What is not resolved yet
- captions and audio description for the multimedia content depend on material the museum is still preparing
- this statement has not yet been assessed by an external evaluator
Physical access to the museum
The museum is on the ground floor of a palace in Šibenik’s historic old town. The route in is step-free and an accessible WC is available inside the museum; this has been checked and confirmed. The palace is reached through old-town streets, so contact us before your visit if you need help getting here.
How we tested
We carried out our own review: keyboard navigation and focus order, form labels and messages, colour contrast, semantic structure, language markings, alternative text, behaviour without JavaScript and with reduced motion, and rendering on wide and narrow screens. The review was performed on 12 October 2026 and does not replace an independent audit.
